Local Boutiques, Fashionistas and Animal Lovers Gather to Raise Money for The Coalition to Unchain Dogs
The Coalition of Unchained Dogs will host its third annual Fashion Unchained silent auction and fashion show on April 28 at 7:00 pm at Flanders Gallery at 302 S. West Street in downtown Raleigh.
Featuring a full runway show and premier auction items from local boutiques and businesses, the event will showcase the best of the Triangle while raising funds to benefit the Coalition. Regional celebrities and models will sport chic Spring trends from Adore, Galatea, The Art of Style, ClothesHound and others. Urbana Catering Concepts is lined up to serve vegetarian-friendly hors d’oeuvres with libations offered from local breweries and wine distributors.
Fashion Unchained tickets can be purchased online for $20 at www.unchaindogs.net or at the door for $25. The Coalition will accept additional donations of cash, checks, and pet supplies at the show.
“Community support from local businesses, restaurants and organizations has been incredible,” said Hailey Queen, Co-Chair of Fashion Unchained. “We’re anticipating an even greater turnout from the 200 attendees we had last year because of the amazing fashion and fantastic auction items available for nothing short of a steal. And it all goes to help us forever change the lives of chained dogs who will be able to run, play and enjoy being a dog in a safe fenced environment.”
The Coalition to Unchain Dogs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to improving the welfare of dogs living outdoors on chains in and around the Triangle region of North Carolina. Since March of 2007, the Coalition has built fences for more 1,400 dogs. The organization also provides assistance with spay and neuter services, education to communities about the detrimental effects of chaining, helps other groups start free-fencing programs, and lobbies for legislation to help chained dogs.
