Reed Evins Trunk Show brings famous footwear to Kristen’s Shoe Boutique

7:38 PM

The name Reed Evins may not immediately ring a bell, but I’m willing to bet you’re more familiar with his family’s work than you think. Reed Evins is a second generation shoe designer and he’s bringing some famous footwear to Kristen’s Shoe Boutique in Cary on March 26th from 4-7 pm and March 27th from 11-2 pm.

Reed’s father and uncle designed shoes for a range of well-known figures, ranging from the silver screen to the White House, including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly and Nancy Reagan.

Here are just a few of the shoes that will be on display at the trunk show:

· Cher's jeweled booties from The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour
· Liz Taylor's jeweled sandals from the 1963 film Cleopatra
· Nancy Reagan’s inaugural satin jeweled pumps
· Ava Gardner's dancing shoes from the 1953 film The Band Wagon
· Judy Garland’s sequined slippers from her eponymous variety show
· Reed Evins’ own Summer/Fall 2009 collection

So mark your calendars for March 26th/27th and prepare to be dazzled by fashion history!
